Who are you?
We are husband and wife team Attie O’Rourke and Will Kemp.
Where are you based?
We have set up our coffee roastery, Groundskeeper Willie, on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, at Moffat Beach.
How did your brand come about?
We started coffee roasting while living in Vancouver, B.C. raising funds for a not-for-profit education society and injecting some ‘Aussie’ into the Canadian coffee scene. We missed the sun, the family and the surf, so returned to Australia to roast coffee and blend tea.
Our dachshund Ralph, who accompanied us to Canada, was much of the inspiration behind our quirky logo and our desire to give back through organisations helping man’s best friend. We donate an ongoing $1 per kilogram to dog rescue organisations.
Ditching the traditional coffee bags, we strive to offer a more sustainable option in packaging in the form of a coffee box, made from recycled materials, which is biodegradable and reusable.
